It’s about retention, motivation & morale

   * Studies have shown that losing one good employee can cost your business up to  25% of that person’s annual salary, by the time you find and train a replacement.

   * It’s a proven psychological principle: People tend to repeat actions for which they receive a positive response, such as a sense of satisfaction or a tangible reward.

   * Even the most boring tasks can be made meaningful when you offer people an incentive to do their best. Make them feel that their efforts and opinions are important. Above all, don’t lose any opportunity to say, "Thanks for a job well done!"

Benefits of Chair Massage:

   * One of the main contributors to everyday stress is the workplace. 70% of workers surveyed by a national survey stated that their job is very stressful. Stress is the #1 cause of disability. It costs employers billions of dollars a year on lost productivity and healthcare costs.

   * "More and more companies offer massage therapy not only as a perk, but also to increase their employees' productivity and morale," said E. Houston LeBrun, president-elect of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA). "You get immediate results — the employees experience stress reduction and greater satisfaction with their jobs."

   * Indeed, studies have shown that massage improves the bottom line of employers. A study by the Touch Research Institute at the University of Miami found that after five weeks, a group of 26 employees who had twice-weekly, 15-minute massages in the office fared better than a control group of 24 employees who were just told to close their eyes and relax.

   * The massaged group experienced reduced stress and improved performance, while the control group did not. Using electroencephalograms (EEG), researchers measured alpha and beta waves in both groups, and found massage recipients to be more alert. Stress hormones in the saliva of the massaged group were lower than in the control group.

   * The massaged workers completed math problems in half the time as normal and with half the errors they had before they were massaged. The math skills of the control group did not improve. The massage recipients also said they were less fatigued and more clear-headed.

   * Since the workplace is stressful, it becomes practical to provide some means of stress relief at the workplace. More and more employers are recognizing that a regular massage can:

   * Help to balance the effects of stress in our lives thus reducing tension headaches, reducing anxiety level and restores a calm mind and feeling of well-being.

   * Relieve physical problems associated with repetitive use injuries such as tendonitis or carpal tunnel syndrome.

   * Alleviate listlessness, poor concentration, anxiety, depression, irritability, or anger.

   * Increase resistance to colds and infections, high blood pressure and heart disease.

   * Decrease physical and emotional exhaustion commonly known as “burn-out.”

Chair massage is a fast, effective and versatile form of body work, onsite at your work place. Unlike more traditional massage techniques, chair massage is done through clothing and no oils are used.

Chair massage is convenient no need to change clothes, shower, or leave work to participate. It encourages and motivates your employees to take better care of themselves.

The recipient is seated in a specially designed chair which allows the therapist to work on the back, neck, shoulders and arms addressing the common problem areas of today's workers.

The massage session usually lasts 10 - 15 minutes, the time for a coffee break. It’s a welcome addition to any wellness program or a great foundation to build a wellness program.

Onsite chair massage works because it helps employees identify and release tension on their own before it becomes a problem. Over 50% of lost work days are stress related and 90% of all visits to primary care physicians are for stress-related complaints.

How it works:

Most companies have a contact who schedules appointments with employees during breaks. The contact person will also help publicize the program. This can be as easy as a flyer stuffed in with the employees pay check and notices placed in strategic areas. The company provides a space like a conference room, break room, or quite corner.

Seated massage is very cost effective at only $1.00 a minute!

You pay for only the employees that use it.

Employees can pay part or all the cost.

Massages take place on break time so no work time is lost.

Massage in the workplace also makes a wonderful incentive for valuable employees, and as a way of saying "Thank you" for a job well done.

Seated massage can be used in conjunction with other programs, providing incentive rewards for good attendance or an accident-free period.

Please call me for a demonstration session so you and others in your organization can experience first hand the benefits of on-site massage.
